I am Alyssa Pier, a conscientious and community-engaged scholar with a bachelor’s in psychology and a bachelor’s in new media art and technology, who is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in museum studies. I am a resourceful leader who advocates for collaboration and the dissemination of knowledge.
I am passionate about authentic storytelling and investing in community. I aspire to work with museum collections and transform the space to be more equitable and approachable.
Mission
My mission is to safeguard collections for the next generation by implementing sustainable best practices in collections care. I aim to provide an equitable storytelling platform for those underserved in the context of history and museums.
I will recognize my privilege and create a space that is more accessible, equitable, and approachable in museums to support the collective public. I will advocate for field development through research and community consultation and further utilize these frameworks to support my work with collections.
